Assuming you carry nothing else, is your count limit determined by weight or volume? Can you carry enough for a 1 hr. flight?

According to their catalog, an Eagle Creek Tarmac 22, max carry on size, is 8 pounds and 2850 cubic inches internal volume. Assuming your bars are typical 4 x 1.5 x 0.5 inch, each is 3 cu in volume and we assume 2.4 oz each with package.

The 2850 cu in will hold 950 bars, which weigh 142 pounds. Typical airline limit is 40 pounds for carry on, so your 8 pound bag gives you 32 pounds for PowerBar cargo. You thus reach your weight limit before you reach your volume limit. You can carry 32 pounds of PowerBars.

Your count limit is thus 213 bars.
