I am posting this message from a Hilton Garden Inn where I will get not only a newspaper, but a complimentary cooked breakfast
and a full compliment of toiletries, including mouthwash (try
this at a Courtyard).
After more than a decade as a Platinum at Marriott, I have voted with my feet. This stay makes me a Diamond at Hilton. ^ The cutbacks - not only the newspapers, but things like the lounge cutbacks are noticed makes the Marriott brands less attractive.
I hope they are reading this.
We all need to starting doing this. To you its the newspaper, to me its mouthwash, to another its the lounge. Whatever it is, its a concerted effort by the Marriott chain to cutback in the worst possible, penny-wise and pound foolish manner.
