I fail to see how this is different than any other advertised sale or price. Seats in the fare class can sell out very quickly, or aren't available on all flights/dates. That's just how air travel is.....and most certainly not specific to UA. Sometimes, you have to look and be a bit flexible to find the lower fares.

The point of efares is to sell seats that would otherwise go out empty. Perhaps the EWR flights have been full, and therefore, UA doesn't need to discount seats out of that market to sell the seats.

On the other hand, I count efares to 18 destinations out of EWR this week, and another 11 next week, as well as 2 same day return. Didn't check availability of them all, but had no problem finding efares at the advertised price to ORD, CRW and FCA for this week. I hardly think that warrants the complaint that there are "never" any efares from EWR. Perhaps they don't have efares out of EWR to your desired destinations, or at your desired times. But that is a completely different matter. As in general, its always more difficult to find the lowest fare buckets, and so you usually have to be flexible.
