I have a return flight this fall, HNL - MSP - ALO, where NWA has just cancelled the morning flight to ALO. Now the only option is a 14 hour layover in MSP before an evening flight to ALO.

With that long a layover I'm thinking of just renting a car at MSP and driving home (4 hour drive). My question is, what will become of my checked luggage? Will it continue on to ALO? Or is there any way to get it off the plane at MSP?
