US wants $128 for the same run (PIT-LGA). Yeah, I know, US and all, but 800 bucks for a Colgan flight is hardly the lap of luxury, where I can at least get an RJ or occasional mainline on US.
Even though my employer probably wouldn't question it, there is no way I can feel comfortable spending company resources on that when there is a better, cheaper alternative. I could get away with 2 or 3 hundred bucks, but once you are past 2x, we're well out of the territory of kettle penny pinching on the airfare.
Thus is born the miracle of the code share and reciprocal earnings. Usually I can find a partner of some sort who is price matching.
