You sure about this?

At one time the "shoe rule" was based on the sole. Different airports handled everything differently.

After the "all shoes off" came out, I tried a couple of times and was more or less strong-armed into removing them if I wanted to clear. Was told they come off or you don't come through.

So now you say procedures actually exist for pax who do not want to remove shoes?
i'm with SDF_Traveler on this one as if it is part of the sop, "it ain't out in the real world yet" so if there is anything you can share......
