Need some suggestions on how I can make this upcoming trip work out on a One World carrier as I don't wan to lose out on the miles.

My dilemma is that I have competing Star Alliance carriers that can get me to JNB from LAX for roughly 6K-7K, and that's business. I really want to make this work out so that I can find a One World carrier for something close to this price range, as all of my miles are with AA.

I've looked at CX, AA, BA, and even QF. All are pricing over 8K. BA and AA are the worst, nothing under 10K.

Any other options?
