Mike,
I've stayed at the Hilton/WDW several times, and generally like the convenience of the property. The rooms are nice, but nothing special. The food is not cheap.
The bus service is adequate in the morning and at park closing times, but can be very frustrating at other times. I have been told by Hilton employees that there is a contract with the bus company for the whole group of hotels, and there's not much Hilton alone can do about the service when it goes wrong. Unlike the Disney drivers, these guys aren't in a union, and for many, English is a second language. Fortunately, the hotel is within easy walking distance of Downtown Disney, and you can catch a Disney bus there. (Note: The Doubletree LBV is also on the same road, but is a much longer hike to Downtown Disney.)
You can pick up a Disney bus guide at the parks, or sometimes at the Disney hotels. They are a little tricky, so it pays to confirm your bus choice with a Disney bus driver.(Or just ask a driver which bus you need, to get to your destination. They are normally very helpful.)
This is a very nice feature if you want to visit the water parks, or other, Disney hotels. (Say, if you wanted to go to the Boardwalk for dinner at Spoodles. Highly recommended!) The Boardwalk and the Beach Club hotels are within walking distance of the back entrance to Epcot. (Between England and France) Many people don't know about this less crowded entrance.
Keep in mind, that transportation services at WDW are geared to park openings and closings. Midday to evening bus/monorail service leaves a lot to be desired, so allow extra time during those hours. Also, if you are going anywhere but a park, you will normally have a bus change, somewhere.
Don't forget to get the little booklet and ID card they give out at check-in for hotel village, guest discounts. Most of them aren't that good, but there are a few gems.
Have a great time!! Wish I could go with you! :-)
