i don't think they intend to do that. The probability of other airlines forcing SQ to release their award seats would likely happen earlier than what you are suggesting.
As an aisde, with SQ denying access to F lounges and increasing mileage to 300% for suites instead of lowering price, it appears to be a characteristics similar to LH miles and more programme.
not a good sign.
