That's funny. I called AF to talk about seat assignments for me and a friend, who separately bought tix on the same flights as me. We had already been assigned seats next to each other on most flights, evidently by DL or speedy at the time of booking. For the AF-coded BKK-CDG leg, we weren't next to each other, but AF fixed that easily, no questions asked.

I can sorta see AF pointing to DL for seat assignments on the DL-coded flights, but for the AF coded flights, that's harder to swallow. Sounds like time to apply the if-you-don't-like-the-answer-hang-up-and-call-again rule.

Through-checking baggage should be no problem. Don't mean to set off a panic and invite a bajillion new questions, but actually getting your baggage onto these flights may be another story. My (mercifully) few lost-luggage events have included one failure by DL successfully to get my bags ATL-JFK (I was connecting to SQ, but had checked only as far as JFK), and another was DL taking their sweet time on a connection to SQ at SFO. And don't get Flyertalkers started on baggage making tight connections at CDG. That less-than-ninety-minute connection outbound is T.I.G.H.T. Hopefully, all will go off without a hitch. That said, I'll pack a couple of day's worth in my carryon.
