I stayed at the WDW Hilton on an SC6 cert (4 free nights costing 110,000 points--used a 10,000 rebate cert so it cost me 100,000). Was upgraded at check-in to a non-towers room on towers level. I think the hotel is 10 floors, with 10 and 1/2 of 9 being towers rooms...biggest beenfit of towers here is free breakfast and happy hour, since the towers rooms that I peeked in as they were being cleaned are similar to regular rooms. he towers lounge has a big screen tv so the kids can watch cartoons as you eat breakfast and read the paper.
The hotel is about average for a Hilton. It is a long and narrow building, with two sets of elevators placed about half way down each wing. There are several restaurants, including a Sunday brunch character breakfast at the buffet, a Benihana (the kids loved the kabuki table) and an ice cream shop. The pool is large, clean and nice, and features a hot tub. The weather was too cool for our use, and we regretted that because it looked like a great place to relax.
There was plenty of free parking, although much of the close parking was reserved for valet parking ($6/night). The park shuttle buseses are supposedly convenient since the Hilton is one of the last stops on the way in and first stops on the way out, but we did not use them. The hotel is about 15 minutes drive from any of the parks (a little longer to magic kingdom).
There was some retileing going on in the lobby, but that should be done by now. There's the typical hilton marble all over the lobby level. There is a disney store in the lobby where you can buy disney park tix and the concierge can sell you tix to other attractions.
The hotel itself is located on "Hotel Row" with about 6 or 7 other hotels, but it is the closest to Disney Downtown Villiage (a half mile or so) for shopping, etc. Also, in the other direction, there is a strip mall with a grocery, drug store and several restaurants (of the TGIFriday variety).
Given the choice, next time I'll stay at a disney property on the Monorail line, but given that it was an award stay, it was an excellent value for the cert!
