Define "double check" because that can be interpreted in so many ways. To me an acceptable "double check" is the following scenario:

TSA Agent: Sir, you appear to have a considerable amount of cash in your belongings. For your, uh, security, we'd like to know some details about this.

Passenger: For my own security and peace of mind, I don't care to provide any.

TSA Agent: Sir, for your, uh, security, I'm required to ask you this question again.

Passenger: For my own security and peace of mind, I insist that you leave me alone.

TSA Agent: Thank you for your cooperation, sir. Have a nice day and enjoy your flight.
