There's a "Jinjiang" Sofitel pretty close to Century Park. My company put me up there once because we had a conference at the Pudong Shangri-La and it was cheap. Unfortunately, I wasn't particularly impressed with the hotel and I would have gladly traded away some of the amenities for a more convenient location; unless you're working long hours in Lujiazui or further out, there's really no reason not to stay east of the river (IMO).
But wouldn't staying east of the river entail an hour-long trek to the airport (PVG)?
