Bargain hotel in Shanghai

Dear friends,

I generally post in the "flights" section, but my recent trip to Shanghai was very interesting in the lodging point of view.

Being French, I like to use the Accor chain (predictable and not expensive).

I reserved a room at the Ibis hotel Pudong (300 Fandiang Lu).

The price was a bargain : 348 a night (week) 288 a night (we).

Rooms were Ibis standard (clean, a bit small, good qsize bed, TV, free broadband, bathroom) and eco-friendly.

Reservation was made thru the french www.accorhotels.com service, which is very efficient.

People at the hotel were not fully fluent (exception of managers) but enough for hotel purposes and much more pleasant than usualy in China.

The location is very good : a bit far from subway (1.5 kilometer) but taxis aplenty (ride to financial district Pudong : 10 minutes and 11 yuan, about USD 1.5 !). Ride from airport and to airport : direct, 45 min, 100 yuan.

For the abovementionned reasons, I recommand this hotel for its fully westerner style (once in the bedroom you shoud be in any Ibis hotel somewhere in Europe), its price and location.
