Argentine immigration officials don't ask questions generally of US and EU nationals -- especially if they don't think you speak Spanish.
I've done day visits from the US to EZE many times where I get into EZE in the morning, go into town for the day and leave in the evening back to the US. No trouble from Argentine immigration officials in Argentina, not even any questions as a day-visiting foreigner despite a huge number of intra-day trips from the US to EZE and back.
