Stretching the rules... experiences?

Ola!

I am on an AONE6 which I started June 7th 2008. The last 4 flights of my route are DPS-HKG-JNB-CPT to collect my new DONE5... I will travel straight on to LHR.

My travel is currently planned to start June 6th in DPS, arriving in CPT June 7th. My DONE5 starts that same day. Unfortunately the HKG-JNB flight on the 6th does not have first class. The one flying on the 9th does.

Two questions:
  1. How strict is the rule that you have to travel within one year? Will BA allow me to fly 2 days later?
  2. Mindpearl in CPT keeps telling me that changing the first international flight will result in a reissue at the new prices. But according to the rules changing the first flight is free if it is done more than 7 days in advance. Who is right?

Thanks for helping me out!
