I moved to CO looking for more complimentary domestic upgrades, but I'm getting a lot less. This year, the upgrade percentage has been HORRIBLE. It's not just me. If you do a search, you'd find that many people are getting a ridiculously low rate~10-20%. There are too many Plats. Sure, I really enjoy the inflight products. CO meals are excellent. However, I actually find that a lot of the CO FAs are simply

. As inferior as UA's meals are, UA FAs provide good service for the most part IME. And, UA really treats 1Ks like royalty. CO Plat is just like every other elite.
Last year, as an 1K with 110,000 BIS (not lite), and partially with thanks to FT, I never had to sit in coach, not even once. This year on CO, I've sat in coach plenty of times...
So, I really don't know why I need to stay with CO. If anything, I think Gold is enough for the 100% RDM and be eligible for B fare upgrades.
I have no problem with CO FAs even in coach, they are far better than that other AAirline I could be flying (I have not much choice in TX here, WN isn't a choice as i dont like hopping around in the same plane to go a few states)
However, I understand from the what is good for you standpoint, and I also understand what you expressed as the too many plats, not enough upgrades as EXACTLY why CO should not DEQM.
It just doesn't make sense from a business standpoint to inflate the ranks more when you are already bursting at the seams with them.
