3 hours is nothing, better forget about the Porsche Museum.

Departure: Normally every 15 min, but sometimes only every 30 min. 10 min to go with the S - Bahn. So you need in best case 15 min after starting to arrive the museum, in worst case 45 min. You have to add the time to arrive the S - Bahn and the time for the Luggage. Then you will have only roundabout 45 min for the museum in the worst case...
This is why when I specified my 3 hour layover I specified it for the S-Bahn station Neuwirtshaus (Porscheplatz) instead of Stuttgart Hbf. In between S-Bahn and my ICE/EC connections I have 15+ minutes each. Should be plenty of time for me to deal with luggage and move towards the train (and should I not I could always cut museum time to 2.5 hours and take an earlier S-Bahn back).

Last year was bad for me, in terms of posting one here on FT as I never actually got around to editing it. I had blogged it as I was on the go, but it was often written at the end of a long day and contained run-ons, repetition, and just bad grammar (that might have something to do with being an engineering major
) However, this year I have resolved to actually edit it and make sure it gets on the trip reports forum quickly. Watch out for it next month!
