I know if I call the reservation line she will be charged the $150 change fee and will only be given a credit for future US travel. Is there anyway to get a full refund or get the credit back on her credit card; due to the nature of the cancellation? She does not know when she will fly next so she would appreciate the money back, even if its $150 less than what she paid. Anyone have any ideas of who to write a letter to or call?

Thanks for the help
I'm guessing they'll say no. 99 percent sure. What sucks even more is that the ticket is only good for the name of the passenger on it. Airlines have taken a lot of control away from the customer. It's really sad, but they have the position to do so. We have to fly in this day and age. Its a hurry up and go world and they know this.

You can try pleading to a customer service agent. But be prepared for "I'm sorry for crisis, but there is nothing we can do".

300 dollar ticket. She'll be able to use it toward credit of another flight + the fare difference and 150 bucks.

I bought a ticket on USAir for 137 dollars and had to change the date. They charged me 150 bucks. Change fee was more expensive than the damn fare. I've always advocated for the change fee to be a percentage of the orignal fare..not some gouged price.

Good Luck!
