Just expect for your chosen carrier to completely screw up your reservations and put you on all sorts of random flights on random dates. Then, expect them to refuse to fix it because the availability you once had is no longer there. Oh yeah, expect to call every day for 14+ weeks to get something close to what you were originally hoping for.

(I know you were only talking about mileage upgrades and not reward seats, but I had to vent...
