That was my one big issue learning about our 2009 fleet purchases if we have to give an Emerald an old Sebring with 45K on it! In terms of the Taurus X being on the lot - the station may have been sold out on SUV's (here in YHZ I've been sold out of SUV's and minivans for weeks now). Even though it was there it might have been booked on a rez. But generally when I come in on shift I send an email to my counter agent and kiosk agent with the day's game plan: "We're plus on these, we're minus on these, Mr. X is an Exec. Elite; upgrade him to the XXX because we're extra on those, Mr. Y is Executive; offer him the SUV because we have one extra today and he's a two day rez and we need that truck back in two days etc."
All of this works great of course in a perfect world.
Thanks for the insight! Perhaps I should start renting at YHZ and then just driving to wherever my actual destination is
