Reducing time on the ground is a major aspect of profitability for LCCs, so I believe the record of getting the intended plane turned around on time is excellent. Easyjet will be good at this for sure. Alas, there's a flip side which is that *if* there's a problem with the planeyou probably won't get anywhere near the treatment you would from BA. So I'd imagine whilst very rare, easyjet has proportionately more 8 hour delays than BA.
I'd personally want to be insured against missing the gatwick flight, but it's very unlikely to happen.
