Slippahs-That would be an excellent solution.
I took the bus from LGA to the train,and trasnfered at Penn station to the 1 line I belive That bus started out pretty empty but was absolutely jam packed as it travelled through queens!.Unfortunately I went the wrong direction on the 1 and thus had a very interesting trip to the Bronx
When I did get off at the right station it was a short walk to the hotel.
Took a cab back to LGA on a sunday(no traffic)and the fare was $30 with tip.
