That's the principle behind why I am opposed to tipping them. The service they provide is intended to make access to airports equal to what Able-bodied people have. The day is coming when airports will be inaccessible to people who cannot afford tips, but need this service. The airports should be providing this service, and paying decent wages to the workers who do the job.
