The solution was to reward the higher fares with bonus base miles, like triple base miles for full F fares and double base miles for full Y fares. Even with the higher mileage rewarded, US Air would be running to the bank if more folks bought higher fares. All their currently announced policy does is strip the meat of their FF program.
