Long after the actual airfield had closed there was an air terminal there where people would check in for their flights and then would be bussed to SVO/VKO/DME, or so I was told. I always thought that's why the station was called liked that, only made the mental connection to the airfield thanks to this thread. (If you live in Moscow you don't necessarily tend to assume Khodynka is anywhere near
