Negative Equity?
Hi - 1st post here & a bit in awe ....
In Nov my husband (a Gold Member at that time) used around 80,000 miles to book a UK-NZ return flight for April 2009 as there was a special offer. However, just recently they have put his remaining small mileage balance into negative, -13,782 miles. I'm imagining this is because he has just lost his Gold Status & therefore the bonus offer will no longer be applicable to him - but I'm not sure .... It's a bit annoying as points from his March flight to UK will now have to pay off his debt. We rang Emirates & they said they had made a mistake, but "the boys in the back room had done some tweaking". We can't seem to get any explanation. Has anyone heard of this negative equity before?
