I'd love to hear too! We're taking our first trip to DC in March and are trying to prioritise what we want to do/visit. We'd love to visit the White House but the only way seems to be by contacting your COngressman. As we're travelling from Ireland it seems that we'll have to cross that off our list

The Embassy used to handle stuff like that, but I don't believe they do these days. However, I seem to remember someone telling me they'd arranged for a Pentagon tour through the Embassy of Ireland. Their website probably has a link to "visiting washington, dc" or something like that.
And you never know---if your TD or council member has a connection in an office here they might be able to work something out regarding a WH tour. All it takes is a phone call to a Rep here and you'd be on the list. (the reverse worked for me on international trips)
