Difference in points for same flights

Hi,

I'd like to trouble you guys for some advice please.

I did a trip to Oz via singapore, Qantas/BA....my miles for the return trip were recorded automatically, but the outward points I had to claim for.

The miles I got are as follows:

Outbound
Heathrow to Singapore (Qantas) 6753
Singapore to Sydney (Qantas) 3906

Return
Brisbane to Singapore (Qantas) 953
Singapore to Heathrow (BA) 1688

Is such a massive difference normal? I would've thought a mile was a mile? The last time did the same flight I got some 9000 miles, are my return miles incorrect?

Thanks

Tom
