Mid-week in January is increases the chances, but there is still luck and skill involved (like lots of other activities in LV)...
I booked a Park Ave Strip View room and was hoping to upgrade to a suite if possible.
I just took a look at that site. Pretty interesting. NYNY seems to have a low hit rate but the sample size is pretty low.
