I was there in 2006 and loved the hotel. I agree with comments about the great concierge lounge. And as most people report, the hotel is far from Dubai's main attractions. However, I found taxis plentiful and inexpensive. Traffic could be as bad as Los Angeles at times, but you pay for the taxi by distance, not time. Try some wadi bashing while you are over there - great fun.
