Good question. I guess I can see why people would request to have them drawn during certain times of the day when the sun is shining straight in their faces, but other than that, it's daytime and most people would expect to be awake.
Surely you're aware of the fact that one open window in an otherwise dark cabin can have an unduly powerful effect. Among other reasons, the sunlight is not only coming out of the sky, it is probably reflected back up by the clouds.
If you're trying to watch a movie screen nearby to the one open window, the image can be virtually obliterated if the angle isn't right.
