BAEC membership numbers
Just signed my partner up to the BAEC and created a household account so I can get my hands on his miles for some upcoming long haul flights he's doing in J.
His BAEC number is 18xxxxxx which compares to mine which is 34xxxxxx. I joined BAEC about 10 years ago so was interested to see that his number starts with a 1 vs mine with a 3.
Anyone have any idea how these numbers are allocated?
By the way, just booked him yesterday on IB down to Sao Paulo on Dec 3, returning in mid-Jan. Just £1.8k in J, compared to £1.3k in cheapest Y class available on IB, and £5.2k in J on BA. His ticket is flexible which he may need for the return on payment of a €120 fee plus any fare difference.
So ex-EU tickets are still available and relatively good value, on IB. Yes I know he could have gone to Oz after Easter next year for $200 quid more in the recent QF 241 sale, but this is peak season, bought 3 weeks ahead of travel, and flexible.
