One of us is confused as to the meaning of secret ballot. I was under the impression it means that a person's choices are kept secret or confidential, not that the act of voting itself is kept secret.
Fwiw when I vote in any US election (be it county, district, state, or national) I am given an "I Voted" sticker that I wear all day long. Although as Randy has already pointed out, U.S. election law really has nothing to do with FT elections.

Wouldn't any change of selection always be both positive
and negative? (It would be positive for the new selection, but negative for the discarded candidate.)
