But right now, (I believe) no one has announced their programs yet (and many made changes, read chopping throughout the year, like abolishing minimums, etc.) so why get all worked up?

I do not get worked up at all. But wrong is wrong, whether other airlines are also doing it or not.

Fly 100K miles and we'll give you an SE status. But when you get the SE status, I'll tell you what benefits we'll grant you.
