I'd suggest staying instead in Newark. I just stayed at a rate of $119/night (for a week stay, Mon-Fri) at the Springhill near the airport. This property is the best of the 3-in-a-row there (SH, FI, CY). Take the free shuttle to EWR and then catch the NJ Transit train, right to NY Penn Station. Couldn't be handier, and the one-way train ticket is only $15. If you are looking to save some money, this is it.
Thank you for your valuable input. The only thing about the Newark, is that we are 10 people travelling together. If you multiply 15$ one way ticket for the group, it's 150$ one way... and another 150$ for the return... So I guess we won't really save with the option you mention
. Guess the best price I have found for this hotel is still the AAA rate at 227$.
Am I wrong, or this rate should be easy to cancel without any penalty at least one day before the arrival, right?
