La Quinta announced today in an email that there were two new redemption tiers for their hotels. There is a new tier that is 15k points and a new tier that is 18k points when previously hotels topped at 11k/night for redemption with very few blackouts for the elite members.

This killed a number of very good redemption deals in Scottsdale, Steamboat Springs (which I believe was previously 8k a night), NYC, and others.

Our company has a very good corporate rate at LQ and the properties are slowly improving. But this is a bummer.
