Incident: Air Canada B773 over Arctic Ocean on Sep 10th 2008, mechanical issue

An Air Canada Boeing 777-300, registration C-FIUL performing flight AC65 from Toronto,ON (Canada) to Seoul (South Korea) with 187 people on board, was at 84N/140W over the Arctic Ocean, when the crew advised, that they had a mechanical problem and needed to divert to Fairbanks,AK (USA). The airplane landed safely at Fairbanks 2 hours and 43 minutes later.

A replacement aircraft, Boeing 777-300 registration C-FRAM, resumed the flight and is estimated to reach Seoul with a delay of 9.5 hours
