Total Price inc. taxes: THB 81,567
Taxes: 360YQ, 7090YR, 4515XT
Additional charges to the above: Egyptair Bangkok charges 2.75% Credit Card fee. (Final Total: THB 83,810, or at today's exchange rate, approx. EUR 1,641)
Base Miles: BKK-CAI 4,516
CAI-CDG 1,990
Destination Mileage earned for me (BD*S):
BKK-CAI 4,516*3 + (4516*.25 = 1129) = 14,677
CAI-CDG 1,990*2 + (1990*.25=497.5) = 4,477
= 19,154
= 38,308 miles for the return trip.
As I have to fly this route anyway, I think it is worth doing once to try an F at this price (which is about the same price as Qatar business class, and approximately 33% cheaper than the cheapest alternative *A carrier, C class, for these dates).
But it is Egyptair, so frankly I am unlikely to fly it again (not, I hope, because my flight will make for a future episode of Air Crash investigations). That is, until I need to quality again for the Gold status. Flying Qatar will be a better product as C compared with MS F, I'm sure. And 200% miles is ok, for the trade-off in airline safety (perceived or real).
So this trip will bring you to BD*G, may be (+55k), and then your last calculation looks other !!!
QR in C only 200 % destination miles !!!
MS in F ( same price )
300 % status and 625 % destination miles !
