If for some reason you prefer BA, it is pretty easy to route yourself through Canada, in which case you will get AA miles. However, BA is still pretty stingy about AA miles: you get something like 25% of the actual miles flown. Details at- https://www.aa.com/aa/i18nForward.do...ishAirways.jsp
