once the initial demand subsides, they'll be selling a no contract iphone for $599/$699.
I think the investment is:

$199 for 8 gb
$25-35 for new activation (?)
$75 max for 1 month service, although fine print says after 14 days can't return - which means I can then terminate, right?
$175 early term penalty

Total $400+++

My reseller was quoting $725 for purchase of unlocked 3G, immediately now. Assuming it costs him up to $500, he's got about $225 for profit, etc.

Question still remains - can it be unlocked and work properly on third party carrier?
