That's exactly what I have started to do. Got an award ticket for my 9-year old son; one of the segments only had FC availability... which I didn't tell him in advance. You should have seen the expression on his face when I handed him a BP that said 1A! (It was somewhat of a gamble, actually, as my own ticket was U or T -- but I did get myself successfully upgraded into 1B.) The BP is now hanging on the wall in his room, framed. My best use of 35,000 miles thus far! :-)
