We have not been able to find any reasonable accommodations in Zambia (Livingstone) for that date so wanted to cancel that flight. Our next flight would remain the same as it is already scheduled to fly out of Johannesburg. We call AA and they said that is a re-routing and would cost us $500 to not take the flight. This just seems wrong to me as nothing needs be changed except we will not be on that flight. They also said if we don't get on the flight then they will cancel the rest of our tickets. Is this correct? Help!!

AA is 100% correct. Pay the difference or take the flight.

Stay on the Zim side to save money.
