It's not like selling out of something at Christmas. Christmas is a set date. The iPhone release date was set only after elaborate and detailed planning. The frustrating part for customers is Apple and AT&T are not sharing their strategy with anyone.
Agreed. I'll have to check my local Silicon Valley stores again to see how they are doing. "Selling put" at the right moment would have the effect of making those on the fence all the more eager to secure a phone from the next wave.
