Wow, what a moron at DL.

TSA had clearly already screened the pax.

If the DL GA was really so concerned someone had gotten by security without being screened, why not institute a terminal dump?

FWIW, I have gotten a BP post-security many times. Either using a DM card or when connecting and needing the connecting BP for whatever reason.

DL agent should have his or her pay docked by the amount of wasted taxpayer $$ to do the rescreening, plus the time of the pax so sent back for useless reasons.

I've had to argue that point with more than one TSO, unfortunately. Most recently, at ACV, I was standing by for an earlier flight, and the TSO not only didn't want to accept my current BP (for a flight 5 hours in the future) but also didn't want to accept the DM card (because I wasn't "on the flight" yet--what, did he expect the GA to page me or something?) I know ACV may be a special case as it's a small airport (1 gate) and there's not much to do post-security, but:

At TPA, I stood by for a flight 8 hours earlier than my booked flight. The TSO didn't want to let me through on the BP--"It's too early for that flight." Didn't want to take the DM card--"This isn't a BP and I don't see the date." I kept pointing to the date on the DM card and indicated that flight was scheduled to depart in less than an hour, so I needed to be at the gate ASAP.

Idjits.
