I have to say that the failure to have a way to sync Tasks/ToDo's is a weird, head-scratching lacuna on Apple's part. None of the the third-party apps/work arounds are anything but a pain to use.

I'm about ready to pull the trigger on getting the websync version of my PIM, Time&Chaos. It has an iPhone-formatted option and the price is the same as Apple's MobileMe.
