Fly Business Class to Cape Town for Under $3,000 Roundtrip

If you’re looking for a winter getaway at the end of the year, FlyerTalkers may have found a great deal for you. Flyers report finding business class fares from Los Angeles to Cape Town, South Africa aboard Qatar Airways for under $3,000 per person.
Flyers looking for a winter getaway may want to consider South Africa this December. FlyerTalkers in the Premium Fares Deal forum found a business class fare from Los Angeles International Airport (LAX) to Cape Town International Airport (CPT) for under $3,000.
The deal – found by FlyerTalkers nk15 and j2simpso – departs Los Angeles on Wednesday, December 4, 2019, and returns on Wednesday, December 11. The best deal is with oneworld partner Qatar Airways, aboard their Boeing 777 and Airbus A350.
Previous FlyerTalkers who have flown the Airbus A350 with the QSuites business class product gave it great reviews. The QSuites are well known for their privacy, incredible in-flight entertainment systems and dining options.
The flight option is also a good deal according to Google Flights. The current price for business class is nearly $2,000 less than other trips between the West Coast and Cape Town. For comparison, a similar flight in Lufthansa and United business class cost $3,870 – but it’s still below the median range of $4,650 and $8,000.
Before booking, flyers should know that both flights require an overnight stay at Doha International Airport (DOH) in Qatar. Heading outbound, expect a 7.5-hour stay at the airport while returning will have an eight-hour layover overnight. If you have access to the Qatar first class lounge, FlyerTalkers say there are sleeping pods available for an overnight stay. Otherwise, you may want to prepare for a longer stay in the lounge, or purchasing your own hotel for the night. Qatar Airways policy won’t provide an overnight hotel for flyers if another layover that is less than eight hours is available.
