Emirates’ in-flight entertainment system took away top honors at this year’s Skytrax World Airline Awards. This is the unprecedented 14th consecutive year that the Gulf carrier has won the category. Emirates was also voted “Best Airline Staff” among all Middle East airlines.

Emirates Airlines has kept a more than decade-long streak alive. The airline was once again named winner of the “Best Inflight Entertainment System” among all carriers in the 2018 Skytrax World Airline Awards.

“It’s an honor to be recognized by Skytrax for our commitment to innovation and service excellence,” Emirates VP Patrick Brannelly said of the airline’s impressive run. “We always work hard to stay creative, relevant, and continue to build content that appeals to our multi-national and multi-cultural passengers. The fact that these awards are based on the direct feedback from passengers is gratifying and wonderful recognition for all of the hard work that’s gone into creating the Emirates experience.”

Emirates officials attribute the long-running recognition to a policy of constant innovation. The airline with a reputation for luxury notes that it was the first to install seat-back monitors for each passenger on every one of its aircraft way back in 1992. Today, the Gulf carrier offers more than 3000 channels of entertainment, including 100-plus channels geared toward children and more than 850 movies for parents to choose from as well.

Emirates also offers live TV, including live sports on most of its aircraft. The airline also offers free wifi for elite Skywards members and first or business class passengers on nearly all of its aircraft.
