Earn an Additional 2X Amex Points by Shopping at Walmart.com

American Express has partnered up with Walmart and is offering bonus points on online purchases through the retail giant’s website.

Consumers with Membership Rewards-earning Amex cards, such as the Amex EveryDay Card or The Platinum Card, will earn an additional 2X points on every purchase made online between July 30 and Aug. 30. To qualify for the bonus, you must complete your purchase using Amex Express Checkout. When prompted for a payment method, simply click on “+ More” and choose Amex Express Checkout, log in to your American Express account and submit payment.

You’ll earn 3X MR points per $1 spent on Walmart.com when checking out with American Express cards that do not earn a bonus otherwise and 4X points when you use the Blue Business Plus Credit Card from Amex OPEN, which earns double points on all purchases.

Keep in mind that the promo is not valid for in-store purchases. Registration is not required, and there’s no limit to the number of points you can earn during this promo.

In addition to earning bonus points at Walmart.com, you also can redeem Membership Rewards points toward your Walmart purchase. However, the rate is just 0.7 cent per point, and it’s not a great redemption. So, make sure to clear the field and set points to be used to 0.

If you shop online often, this is a great promo to earn extra Amex Membership Rewards points.
