Free Round-Trip Flights for Lakers Fans

"Los Angeles, California, USA - October 10th 2010: Exterior of the Staples Center in Downtown Los Angeles, during a home game of the Los Angeles Lakers."

Delta Air Lines is running a promotion for Los Angeles Lakers fans who can’t make it to every home game.

The airline is in charge of a charitable seat exchange program for season ticket holders willing to trade their Staples Center seats for Delta flight vouchers. Only the first 50 tickets per game are eligible for the promo.

Because of demand, the Showtime Seat Exchange for the game on Nov. 15 against Sacramento Kings has been closed already, but the following games are still eligible for the promo.

  • Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers on Dec. 22 — ticket exchange will open on Dec. 2
  • Portland Trail Blazers at Los Angeles Lakers on Jan. 31 — ticket exchange will open on Jan. 3
  • Denver Nuggets at Los Angeles Lakers on March 15 — ticket exchange will open on Feb. 18

The game tickets will be donated to local communities. For example, the Nov. 15 Seat Exchange benefitted After-School All Stars, an after-school program for middle-school students to help them succeed in life.

All California state residents are eligible to apply. A four-ticket maximum is implemented per donation, and the tickets must come in pairs. Applicants must be at least 18 years old and have a Ticketmaster or a Flash Seats account to be able to transfer the tickets.

Air travel will be awarded to the winners of the seat exchange in the form of $50 Delta flight certificates good for travel to any U.S. destination in all 50 states within one year of being issued. Keep in mind that these tickets won’t qualify for SkyMiles accrual. To donate your tickets, visit this page.

The promo is a response to Delta and the NBA team’s recent agreement to extend their continuous partnership and allow the Atlanta-based carrier to remain its exclusive teammate in the sky.
